With the desire to promote the best of the Azores Sea through gastronomy, Caldo do Peixe Festival is an event created for everyone to enjoy the region’s fish soups and broths. Located in Rabo de Peixe, a place demarcated by its fishing port, this festival attracts people from all over São Miguel Island.

It all started in 2013 during the São Pedro Gonçalves Festivities. Entertainment was the main way to attract visitors to this port, which every day collects kilos of fish. Currently, the festival attracts thousands of people to Rabo de Peixe. People who have the desire to taste and also share the famous recipes that mark this village.

With the concern for the sustainability of the event, both at an environmental and a financial level, the Caldo do Peixe Festival uses reusable cups and ceramic bowls so that it is possible to enjoy an event without pollution.

These are recipes with a history. These are recipes with a lot of sweat and work from those who invest their time in looking for fish in the high seas. These are unique flavors that bring to the festival a fantastic opportunity to taste fish species that isn’t known by most people, such as rays. Innovation is something that sets this event apart. It’s the desire to go further with all the recipes.
